"Celebrate Learning!"
Message from Our Principal Mrs. McCall
Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to Southeast Elementary School!
Administrators and teachers everywhere recognize the important contributions parents make toward a child’s success in school. There is no question about it -- success at school begins at home. Parents are the single most important variable in a child’s education and outside experiences. Parents model both a silent and spoken language in front of their children daily.
ne of the hallmarks of an exceptional school is a continuous partnership between the school and parents who work together for the best interest of children. The close partnership between home and school is one of our noteworthy strengths here at Southeast, and one that I will continue to foster as we grow and learn together in this vastly changing world.
As we look forward to the school year in 2016-17, our faculty is committed to ensuring that each and every child is provided an opportunity to excel academically, physically, and socially. We know that we can only accomplish this through a true partnership between the school, our parents, and the students. That being said, Southeast Elementary has a strong tradition of supportive, hard-working parents. Throughout the year parents have the opportunity to develop that partnership in a wide variety of ways. Parents join the BEAR CLUB, volunteer in the classroom, help at the Fall Festival, attend BEAR DEN meetings, read to their children daily and help in many other significant ways. It is important to your child that you are involved in some way at school. It is a solid, measurable way to let your child(ren) know you think his or her school is important and worth the time, energy and investment.
We spent a great deal of time this summer reflecting on our journey to this point by reviewing our school improvement goals, studying our students' achievement, and planning for a school year that will bring further growth for our students and our faculty. Our children are continuously engaged in a rigorous curriculum with digital platforms, hands-on differentiated instruction, and purposeful activities designed to encourage and support higher order thinking and deepen your child's understanding of concepts.
Again, WELCOME TO SOUTHEAST we are glad you are a part of our family!
